How Great is Our God

By Jason Hoyt

"For creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.  For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our body." Romans 8:20-23

Not often enough I am reminded of how small I am in the grand picture of all that God has created and is doing in our world.  This happened to me again this week as a friend of mine sent me a youtube video.

Everyone of us knows deep within our souls that there is something deeply wrong with us and that our bodies physically wear out and tire easily.  How else do you explain that the recommendation of doctors is to sleep for 7-8 hours a day which is about 1/3 of each day.

Romans 8 says that the the whole creation groans and suffers and the reason for that is the hope that creation (everyone) would be drawn to Jesus for the freedom He gives freely.  The video humbled me and reminded me of how small I am and how big and how great our God is. I hope it does the same for your heart as it gives you a picture of how magnificent and how detailed our God is and how much all of creation groans for redemption.
